What Sausage To Bake On a Sheetpan

You can pick different sausages for this dinner – look for something roughly bratwurst sized.

If you chose a pre-cooked sausage (some bratwurst, polska kielbasa, or other smoked sausages) reduce their cook-time as you’ll want to bake them for flavor – but they won’t need as much as they are already cooked.

  • Italian Sausage
  • Bratwurst
  • Polska Kielbasa – reduce cooktime as it will be pre-cooked

How To Tell When Sausage is Done

Sausage, especially sausages with some herbs, can look pink even when fully cooked – and some can look cooked, when not yet at a food safe temperature.

Because sausage is ground, and stuffed into casing, there is more opportunity for bacteria to grow – so please fully cook sausages, everytime you cook them.

For this reason we strongly recommend using adigital food thermometer to gauge when your sausage is done cooking.

Sausage is considered free from food-borne illness and done cooking at 160 degrees.

What to Serve With Sausage Bake

This dish is an all-in-one recipe, where the side dish bakes with the main dish – so a side isn’t strictly needed – but we’re rounding up some of our favorites to serve with this sausage bake below:
