However, we secured an exceptional room rate thanks to my dad’s conference, which, surprisingly, made the Four Seasons the most affordable luxury option at Disney World the week before Thanksgiving. While it was still a significant trip that required saving, every moment proved to be worth the investment.

This trip was a magnificent early Christmas gift for my children. We had long dreamed of a family visit to Disney, and this stay was perfectly timed to experience Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party! From the moment you pass through the beautiful gated neighborhood and step into the lobby of the Four Seasons Orlando, you immediately sense that you’ve arrived at an extraordinary destination. The attention to detail and the serene, luxurious atmosphere set this resort apart.

The resort grounds are meticulously maintained, boasting lush landscapes and vibrant flora. A warm greeting from the friendly staff upon arrival sets a welcoming tone, while the lobby itself is a masterpiece of design. The breathtaking chandelier, in particular, is a work of art that captivates with its elegance and grandeur. Unrivaled Accommodations and Magical Views

Our room at the Four Seasons Orlando was truly spectacular. Positioned on one of the top floors, it offered ample space, a beautifully appointed and spacious bathroom, and an incredible balcony with captivating views of Epcot. We had the convenience of a connecting room to my parents’ suite, which boasted an even more expansive balcony overlooking both Magic Kingdom and Epcot. This strategic positioning was a highlight of our stay, allowing us to witness the nightly fireworks spectaculars from both parks in exquisite detail, right from the comfort and privacy of our own rooms.

While my camera lens made the distant views appear slightly zoomed out, the reality was even more impressive. From my parents’ balcony, Cinderella Castle was perfectly visible, creating a truly magical backdrop for our evenings. The rooms themselves epitomized luxury, featuring plush bedding, elegant decor, and all the modern amenities one would expect from a world-class resort. Undoubtedly, the absolute best feature of the Four Seasons Orlando is its incredible array of swimming pools – a true water paradise! The resort boasts not one, but three distinct aquatic zones designed to cater to every guest. There’s a serene adult-only pool, perfect for those seeking tranquility (visible in the foreground of the photo above). In the background, you’ll find the expansive, zero-entry main pool, a hub of activity for families. Beyond these, the resort truly shines with its dedicated kids’ area, featuring a gigantic splash pad, a shallow kiddie pool, and the pièce de résistance: a captivating lazy river!

The kids’ pool area is a marvel in itself, thoughtfully designed to be both enormous and engaging. The main splash pad and kiddie pool never exceed a foot in depth, ensuring a safe and delightful experience for even the youngest guests. We thoroughly enjoyed discovering the various hidden nooks, cozy pods, and shaded tents scattered around the pool, offering perfect spots for a quiet moment or a quick snack. Poolside service is a hallmark of the Four Seasons, meaning delicious food and refreshing beverages are always just an order away. Interactive play features abound, including a charming “cove” ideal for in-water basketball and volleyball, keeping the children entertained for hours.

Every resort pool should aspire to have a lazy river that gracefully winds through lush, gorgeous property, especially one with attentive waitstaff ensuring your beverage is always topped off as you float along! We spent countless hours drifting around, particularly enjoying the playful sections with gentle bubbles and miniature “rapids” that added an extra element of fun. The lazy river features impressive waterfalls, intriguing cave areas, and even water cannons – perfect for playful splashes!

We had such an incredible time in the kids’ pool area and the lazy river that we actually never even made it over to the large main pool. For those seeking a quieter experience, there’s also a remarkably elegant adults-only pool, conveniently located just off the hotel building. This sanctuary provides a tranquil escape from the lively family zones, allowing adults to unwind without the energetic sounds of children. As a parent, I deeply appreciate this thoughtful separation; it allows me to relax fully without worrying about my kids’ excited exuberance potentially disturbing honeymooners or other guests seeking peace and quiet.

The water cannons along the lazy river were a source of immense amusement. The initial fun escalated when we discovered they could be spun around for close-range water battles – an entertaining, if slightly chaotic, development!

Beyond the spectacular pools, the Four Seasons Orlando truly excels in providing a wealth of family-friendly amenities. The large splash pool area isn’t just about shallow waters; it features exciting water slides that delight older kids, enchanting waterfall archways, and is surrounded by lush, vibrant greenery, creating an immersive tropical environment. And for the adults, the very attentive waitstaff ensures that parents can relax and enjoy themselves while their children play.

Unfortunately, our youngest, Bridget, was just a little too small for some of the larger slides, so we opted to enjoy the comfortable tents and private pods scattered around the area instead, offering a perfect shaded retreat. It truly underscores how thoughtfully designed these spaces are, ensuring enjoyment for every family member, regardless of age or preference.

The resort also features an exceptional outdoor game area, which hosts the complimentary Kids for All Seasons camp – a fantastic perk we regrettably couldn’t fully explore due to our packed schedule. This vibrant zone is equipped with a bocce ball lawn, multiple cornhole setups, a giant Connect Four game, and foosball tables nestled within a spacious shaded area. Additionally, an on-site arcade offers classic entertainment, though we found ourselves too engrossed in the outdoor activities to venture indoors for the pinball machines.

While the Four Seasons brand is often associated with upscale luxury, it consistently proves itself to be remarkably kid-friendly. This particular resort goes above and beyond to ensure guests of all ages feel welcome, offering a diverse range of activities that children adore without ever compromising the property’s sophisticated ambiance. It’s a perfect balance where families can create cherished memories in an environment of refined comfort.

Completing the family-friendly offerings, there was also a very well-maintained playground for younger children, providing yet another avenue for outdoor fun and adventure.

Culinary Delights: Dining at The Four Seasons Orlando

One of the aspects I particularly adore about the Four Seasons brand is its “kids under 5 eat free” policy at most restaurants. While this specific benefit doesn’t extend to character breakfasts (a splurge we opted out of, much to my chagrin as a self-proclaimed “terrible mom”), we certainly maximized our on-site dining opportunities during my dad’s conference. The convenience and quality of the resort’s culinary offerings were simply outstanding.

I wholeheartedly recommend the Ahi Tuna Salad from PB&G Grill, a delightful poolside eatery. Its freshness and vibrant flavors made it a memorable meal. While Four Seasons meals are certainly on the pricier side, their quality is consistently fantastic. Moreover, the cost isn’t significantly higher than dining within Disney World, especially when you factor in the complimentary kids’ meals, which often come with surprisingly generous portions. Considering the superior quality and ambiance, opting for a resort meal feels like a worthwhile indulgence, offering a gourmet experience far beyond a typical park hot dog or hamburger that might only save you a few dollars.

It was at PB&G Grill where my children unexpectedly discovered their love for calamari – a delightful culinary revelation! As for me, I uncovered the sheer perfection of their “Skinny Dip Cocktail.” If you ever find yourself at the Four Seasons Orlando, consider this a direct recommendation: order it without hesitation. Its refreshing taste is simply unparalleled and makes for a perfect poolside indulgence.

Beyond PB&G, the resort offers additional exceptional dining experiences. Lickety Split, located in the main lobby, is a convenient spot for espresso drinks, delectable gelato, savory chorizo breakfast burritos, and grab-and-go cheese plates and sandwiches – ideal for a quick bite before heading to the park shuttle. Ravello, situated on the lower floor of the main building, is renowned for its character breakfast offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays. While we didn’t book a character dining experience, we had a delightful chance encounter with Goofy entering the breakfast area, who generously gave our kids a warm hug! I’ve heard wonderful things about the breakfast itself and the ample time guests get to interact with Goofy and his friends.

Navigating Disney: Convenience and Considerations

Our overall experience at the Four Seasons Orlando was, as always with this brand, exceptional. The resort provides a private, air-conditioned motor coach shuttle service that transports guests to various Disney transportation hubs, including the monorail (which, unfortunately, was not operating for two of our three Disney days) and the ferry to the parks. This dedicated service adds a layer of comfort and luxury to the journey to and from the magical parks.

My only minor reservation revolved around the time it took to reach the parks. It sometimes felt like a significant production – taking a bus, then potentially transferring to a ferry or monorail, or another bus – before even entering the park gates. With tired, fussy kids at the end of a long day, a more direct route, perhaps a monorail or boat directly to the hotel, would have been considerably more convenient, minimizing the additional walking and transitions.

For adult travelers, or families with older, less demanding children, the slight distance from the immediate park action offers a perfect balance – proximity enough to enjoy Disney, but removed enough for a luxurious, tranquil retreat. However, if I were to plan another trip specifically focused on maximizing park time with very young children, I might consider staying at a Disney-owned property for park-intensive days, perhaps combining it with a stay at the Four Seasons just to fully immerse ourselves in its unparalleled pool and resort amenities on designated “resort days.” This approach would allow us to savor the best of both worlds: the immersive convenience of Disney lodging and the exquisite luxury of the Four Seasons.
